GRAHAM BRADY CALLS FOR FAIR FUNDING FOR TRAFFORD SCHOOLS
Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr Brady said: ‘Trafford is the best performing education authority in the North and yet it is one of the ‘f40 group’ of the worst funded. Will the minister look closely at the new draft funding formula under which all Trafford secondary schools and some primaries will lose out? Will he ensure that the new arrangements are entirely fair to under-funded authorities like Trafford?
Speaking later Mr Brady said: ‘The whole point of moving to a national funding formula is to address the historic unfairness in the current system. It is essential that Trafford gets a better deal under the new arrangements. Trafford consistently achieves top results and I will be pressing ministers to deliver the kind of deal that Trafford deserves.’
