Sir Graham Brady has said he's thrilled by the news of his knighthood, announced in the New Year's Honours List.
The MP has represented Altrincham and Sale West for over twenty years and was first elected in 1997. He chairs the 1922 Committee which represents all Conservative back bench MPs
Sir Graham said: 'I and my family are all thrilled by my knighthood, I’ve been especially touched by the many notes of congratulation that I have received. Some are from political supporters and others from charities and community organisations with which I've been involved. I particularly appreciate the kindness of so many people who do not share my politics but have got in touch to say how pleased they are. Thank you.'
